Junior Data Engineer Position

Deep Digital Solutions Group (Deep DSG) is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our growing team supporting digital transformation initiatives with our pharmaceutical manufacturing customers.

The successful candidate will assist in the design, implementation, and optimisation of data infrastructure and integration solutions, enabling efficient data flow and analytics within a regulated, GxP-compliant environment.

Location

This is a hybrid role, which will require a regular on-site presence at a client site in Dublin. Proximity to Dublin is therefore a key consideration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of data integration, contextualisation, and visualisation solutions within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

  • Work closely with Deep DSG consultants and customer stakeholders to define requirements, analyse existing data architectures, and propose improvements.

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining integrated systems that connect process, MES, historian, and reporting layers.

  • Participate in data analysis and visualisation activities to help drive actionable business insights.

  • Support infrastructure assessments, system validation, and change management in line with GxP and data integrity standards.

  • Collaborate within an Agile project environment, contributing to sprint planning, documentation, and delivery milestones.

  • Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting using digital tools and modern data engineering techniques.

  • Contribute to mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Deep DSG team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.

  • Strong interest or experience in data engineering, integration, or automation within regulated or industrial environments.

  • Understanding of data analysis, visualisation tools, and infrastructure architecture.

  • Familiarity with problem-solving using IT and digital tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile or adaptive project delivery framework.

  • Strong analytical thinking, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Awareness of compliance, data integrity, and business process management principles.

  • Team-oriented, with a focus on collaboration and customer success

Not required but advantageous

  • Exposure to AI, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics projects.

  • Understanding of Industry 4.0/5.0 and digital transformation concepts.

  • Experience with pharma or manufacturing systems such as MES, DeltaV, or PI System (AVEVA/OSIsoft).

  • Familiarity with SAP manufacturing modules (beneficial but not essential).

  • Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL, or SQL-based data integration
