Job description

Deep Digital are seeking an experienced OT Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in bridging operations technology (OT) and information technology (IT). This position involves working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, automation, and IT/OT teams to deliver robust data solutions that support manufacturing and industrial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support OT-related projects from design through commissioning and handover.

  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure system integrity and compliance.

  • Oversee commissioning activities and manage smooth handovers to operations teams.

  • Collaborate with automation engineers and IT/OT specialists to integrate data systems with control platforms.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and architectures for OT environments.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards in OT systems.

  • Investigate and resolve complex issues related to data collection, storage, and retrieval.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the team

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations, installations, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Comply with Deep Digitals Quality Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to your process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required.

Job requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  2. Proven track record in OT projects, including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handovers.

  3. Strong understanding of industrial control systems and OT network architectures.

  4. Working knowledge of DCS technologies such as:

    • Emerson DeltaV

    • Foxboro

    • Siemens PCS7

  5. Experience with data integration between OT and IT systems.

  6. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred

  1. Familiarity with data historians, OPC protocols, and industrial IoT solutions.

  2. Knowledge of scripting or programming for data extraction and transformation.

  3. Understanding of cybersecurity principles in OT environments.
