Role Summary 
We are seeking a Senior Specialist – Data Enablement to lead digital transformation initiatives across global manufacturing environments, with a focus on regulated Life Sciences. This role combines technical leadership, platform delivery, and client engagement to enable smarter, faster, and compliant operations through industrial data platforms and contextualization layers. 

Key Responsibilities 

Data Architecture & Enablement 

  • Translate shop-floor data needs into scalable, value-driven technology solutions. 

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide manufacturing data models (S88/S95) and Unified Namespace (UNS) patterns. 

  • Collaborate with automation, IT, and process engineering teams to establish robust integration standards. 

Platform Delivery & Technical Leadership 

  • Lead deployments, upgrades, and migrations of AVEVA PI System components (Data Archive, AF, Vision, Interfaces). 

  • Design and implement HighByte Intelligence Hub for industrial data modeling, contextualization, and UNS enablement. 

  • Enable secure, event-driven architectures for publishing contextualized data to historians, data lakes, cloud analytics, and message brokers. 

  • Oversee deployment of MQTT brokers, OPC UA servers/clients, edge gateways, and protocol converters. 

Operational Excellence & Governance 

  • Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices, governance models, and technical standards. 

  • Define and maintain data modeling conventions and lifecycle management strategies. 

  • Support SDLC execution and computer system validation in regulated environments. 

  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization. 

Client Engagement & Thought Leadership 

  • Act as a trusted advisor during workshops, solution design sessions, and proofs of concept. 

  • Support pre-sales activities, including technical proposals and solution roadmaps. 

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal capability development.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation; life sciences preferred. 

  • Hands-on expertise with AVEVA PI System and HighByte Intelligence Hub. 

  • Strong knowledge of industrial data architectures, UNS, MQTT, OPC UA, and edge technologies. 

  • Familiarity with shop-floor systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and IT infrastructure (networking, virtualization, cybersecurity). 

  • Experience with SDLC and GxP compliance. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
